Donald James “Jamie” Franklin Jr., 38, of New Bern passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014.

He was an avid hunter and loved playing poker.  He adored his children and was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy Franklin; daughter, Brooklyn Franklin of the home; son, Landon Franklin of the home; parents, Don & Faye Franklin of Aurora; step-children, Hayden Jordan and Blaine Allen, both of Texas; sisters, Lisa Franklin Jackson of Merritt and Lorrie Franklin of Aurora; nephew, Tayler Jackson of Merritt; niece, Jordyn Jackson of Merritt; and numerous aunts and uncles locally as well as in Alabama and Tennessee.

His funeral will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at White Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow immediately in Sandy Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services from 3 to 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall at White Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
