DOROTHY ROGERS

July 18, 1927 – Sept. 4, 2014

Mrs. Dorothy Fields Rogers, age 87, a resident of 3188 Market Street Ext., Washington died Thursday morning September 4, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 6, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Rev. Phil O’Carroll.

Mrs. Rogers was born July 18, 1927, daughter of the late Walter Fields and Julia Farmer Fields.  She married Jessie Robert “Jake” Rogers who survives and she was a homemaker.  Mrs. Rogers attended Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Jake of the home, she is survived by her daughters: Brenda Rogers Watters and husband, Jackie of Washington and Sharon Rogers Hollingsworth and husband, Charles “Chuck” of Farmville and her grandchild: Jackie “Ray” Watters, Jr., of Raleigh.  She is preceded in death by her sons: Jerry Wayne Rogers and Jesse Robert “Little Jake” Rogers, Jr. and two sisters.
