Vernicia Haddock, 81, died Saturday, September 27, 2014.

The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM in Unity Free Will Baptist Church by the Dr. Jeff Manning.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Vernicia was born May 29, 1933 to the late Robert Hunter “Bob” and Tiny Robinson Haddock in Greenville.  She was a lifelong resident of Greenville and was employed in the Registrar’s office at East Carolina University for 30 years, retiring in 1993.  She was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church.  Vernicia loved her family and friends, and especially times of socializing with others throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Vernicia was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert L. Haddock and W. J. (Jinx) Haddock; and sisters, Vernal Haddock, Clara H. Hutchinson, Agnes H.Pehle, Jeannette Haddock, and Penny Garris; and her dear friend and companion, Doris Weigand.

She is survived by: her sister, Grace H. Bonner of Washington, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM and at other times at the home of her sister, Grace Bonner, 7027 River Road, Washington.
