Mrs. Olga Mae Waters Wallace, age 94, a resident of 999 Biggs Road, Pinetown, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Pastor David Young and Bobby Wallace. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Greg Harris, Jason Harris, Johnnie Mack Wallace III, Mark Bowen, Gene Biggs and Mitch Biggs will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on March 29, 1920, to the late Joshua B. and Bertha G. Waters. On Jan. 5, 1939, she married Johnnie M. “Jack” Wallace Sr. who preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1975. She was a 1937 graduate of Bath High School and was secretary of Pinetown Elementary School for 27 years. She was a founding member of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church and she was a member of the Pinetown Senior Citizens Club, 76’ers Home Extension Club, Beaufort County Grange No. 1233, Beaufort County DAVA No. 48, Woman Active for Christ (Ladies Auxiliary of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church).
Survivors include, three daughters, Glenda Boyd and husband Halston of Bath, Gail Harris and husband Henry of Newport News, Va., Deannie Hodges and husband Clarence of Pinetown, two sons, Bobby G. Wallace and wife Sybil of Pinetown, Johnnie Wallace Jr. and wife Patsy of Washington, seven grandchildren, Teresa Boyd, Sherri Boyd, Corinna Oliver and husband Steve, Bobby Wallace Jr. and wife Shari, Greg Harris and wife Jen, Jason Harris and wife Rachel, Johnnie Mack Wallace III and wife Holly, 10 great-grandchildren, Ransom Harris, Luke Wallace, Kameron Harris, Natalee Harris, Daniel Wallace, Josiah Wallace, Lilly Wallace, Emely Wallace, extended family, Robin Lilley, Stephanie Lamb, Steven Moody, Lance Oliver, Adam Oliver, Nick Greikspoor, Ashley Corbett and special helpers, Carolyn Simmons, Melanie Toler, Sandra Riddick, Delphia Williams and the staff of Home Life Care. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lindsay Rudolph Waters, and her sister-in-law, Claire Waters.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
