Sylvia Harrington Cook, age 64, a resident of Deer Track Drive in Washington, passed away on May 3, 2015, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Mrs. Cook was born in Pitt County, on Jan. 15, 1951, to the late Irving Gray and Delma Neal Harrington.
She attended Pitt County Schools and was employed with Hamilton Beach, Singer, and lastly Bill’s Hot Dogs. On Oct. 25, 1980, she married Arthur L. Cook, who predeceased her on Nov. 14, 2013. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and riding her golf cart. She is survived by her sons: Nicholas Ray Baker of Pinetown, and Brian Keith Baker of Cranston, R.I.; one sister, Gladys Keighley of Providence, R.I.; one brother, Ricky Ray Harrington of Washington, and one grandson, Nicholas Thomas Baker of Pinetown.
A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Danny Barrow. Nicholas Baker, Nicholas Thomas Baker, Brian Baker and Kenneth Keighley will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations and other times at the home of her brother, Ricky Harrington on Deer Track Drive in Washington.
