LELAND HAYWOOD EVERETTE

Mr. Leland Haywood Everette, age 78, died May 26, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Mr. Everette was born in Beaufort County, Everette’s Cross Roads Community on May 31, 1936 to Leland Howard Everette and Myrtle Wallace Everette.
He was a graduate of Bath High School and joined the Army shortly thereafter. Mr. Everette was an employee of Samson Shirt Factory before working at Hamilton Beach for 20 years in Washington, NC.
He was first married to Jean Lamm of Washington, NC. To this union, they had five sons: Leland Haywood Everette, Jr. of Bath, NC, Ronnie Blount Everette of Goldsboro, NC, Timothy Eugene “Tim” Everette of Washington, NC, Stephen Todd Everette of Washington, NC and Howard Paul Everette of Washington, NC.
Mr. Everette was married to Sally Jones in a second marriage. They had two girls: Patricia Everette Merritt (Kevin) of Zebulon, NC and Corrina Everette Moore (Robert) of Manteo, NC. He had 11 grandchildren and four grandchildren.
A graveside celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery. His sons will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends after the service. The family and friends will also gather at the home of Mike and Linda Swanner at 4378 Hwy. 92 East, Bath, NC for a reception and visitation.
