PETS OF THE WEEK_150614_WEB

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. Abby

Meet our 8-month-old female, Whippet-mix puppy named Abby. Her shorthair coat has striking designs of brindle — black and brown. White shows on her chest and the tips of her feet. A smart, goodlooking, friendly, playful and affectionate pup who loves to give kisses, this strong girl will need basic obedience training and a fenced-in area or daily exercise on a leash. Abby will make a great pet in a good forever home. Come visit her — she’s available through Saturday at the shelter.

Jan

Always friendly, playful and loving contact with humans, that’s our Jan. With an inquisitive look and a quiet meow, she will greet you — her soft paw will reach out to touch you. This calico is a smart, 1-year-old domestic shorthair with a beautifully patterned coat of russet/pale orange, ebony/gray and white. Jan will make a wonderful pet and companion in a variety of good forever home settings. This must-see cat would love to have you visit her.

She is available through Saturday at the shelter.

During the month of June, cats and kittens at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility will have an adoption fee of $25. This fee includes spaying/neutering, the first round of shots, a microchip and worming for each feline adopted. This is a reduced fee with the remainder paid by the Humane Society of Beaufort County. Don’t delay! This offer is in effect until June 30. For more information, call 252-946-1591.
