The Washington Kiwanis Club awarded the fourth of its annual $1,200 scholarships at a recent meeting. Kyle Krajewski from Washington High School was honored as the Christopher Francisco Memorial Scholarship recipient.

In comments to the club, Kyle announced his intention to attend UNC-Chapel Hill and major in geology.
Funding for the scholarships and other club projects comes from community activities including the annual lobster sale, the Washington-Kiwanis Christmas parade and the annual golf tournament.
The Kiwanis Club of Washington meets each Tuesday for lunch at King Chicken on Carolina Avenue, Washington. The club welcomes prospective members who have an interest in service to the community.
