Mildred Roma Hardison

Mildred Roma Hardison, 86, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her home. The funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev Larry Stephens officiating; burial will follow at the Hardison Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardison was born in Beaufort County on June 24, 1929, daughter of the late Joshua and Vera Perry Hardison. She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church, the Caddie Peel Circle and a homemaker.  Mrs. Hardison was a devoted wife and mother and an excellent cook.  She was well known for her mayonnaise cake, cabbage and fried chicken.

On August 29, 1952 she married Willie Hardison, who preceded her in death on December 19, 2009.  A sister, Mary Cratch and a brother, Joshua Hubert Hardison also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters: Josie Hardison and Mona Hardison, both of Farmlife; sisters: Vera Salter of Greenville and Betty Woolard of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law: Shirley Hardison of Washington and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Piney Grove Baptist Church and at other times at the residence, 1760 Hollow Pond Road, Williamston.
