Mr. William W. Pruitt, Jr., age 70, of Bath, died Friday, July 31, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church located at 101 Craven Street, Bath, NC 27808.  Lunch will be provided for out-of-town family and guests at the church following the service.

On Friday, August 7, the family will have a gathering of family and friends between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the home located at 1339 Bayview Road, Bath, NC 27808.

Mr. Pruitt was born October 27, 1944, son of the late William Woodrow Pruitt, Sr. and the late Kathryn Johnson Pruitt.  He attended Wingate College and North Carolina State University and retired from United States Cold Storage, Inc.  At his church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, he was the Sr. Warden of the Vestry. Mr. Pruitt was the Chairman of the Historic Bath Commission.

Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife of over fifty years: Betty Pruitt; two daughters: Terri Howell and her husband Bryan and Angie Smith and her husband Mike; a brother: Stan Pruitt; a sister: Kathryn Pruitt; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He was predeceased along with his parents by a sister: Alice Pruitt Baum.
