Talmage O. Hamilton

Mr. Talmage Ormond Hamilton, age 72, a resident of 1150 West Pungo Street, Belhaven, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Belhaven, conducted by Rev. Cris Noble. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at his home.

Mr. Hamilton was born in Beaufort County on September 12, 1942.  He was the son of the late Dennis O. Hamilton and Daisy Tuten Hamilton.  Mr. Hamilton retired from the U.S. Navy with 24 years, eight months and five days of service.  After his military career, he served as technical advisor to the Pentagon for 15 years.  Mr. Hamilton moved to Belhaven in September of 1998 and worked as manager of DPD Team Concrete in Belhaven until he retired.

Mr. Hamilton was married to the former Dawn Northrup, who survives.

Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Deborah L. Charette of Athens, Texas; two sons, Kevin M. Luppino of Penn Yan, N.Y., and Patrick B. Luppino of Ocean View, VA.; brother, Roland H. Hamilton of Washington; four grandsons, R. J. Cavender, Adam Charette, Michael Luppino and Owen Charette; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by a son, Paul Alan Hamilton; three sisters, Polly H. Britt, Peggy H. Boyd and Annie H. Ambrose; two brothers, Edgar P. Hamilton and Ronald H. Hamilton; his mother and father-in-law; three sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law.
