Southside High School alum graduates from U.S. Army Basic Combat Training

SHARON TYER HOMEGROWN HERO: Private Justin Tyer of Washington graduated from the United States Army Basic Combat Training on Oct. 1 at Fort Jackson, S.C. Private Tyer served as a squad leader during basic training and is now beginning Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee. Justin is the son of Gary and Sharon Tyer of Washington. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold "Lin" Tyer, formerly of Bath. Maternal grandparents are Frank Cashion and the late Christine Adams Cashion of Chocowinity. Justin is a 2015 graduate of Southside High School. Thank you, Private Tyer, for protecting our freedom and serving our country.
