From Beaufort County Genealogical Society 

The October meeting of the Beaufort County Genealogical Society was held at the Beaufort County Register of Deeds Office. Jennifer Leggett Whitehurst was honored by BCGS for the outstanding services she and her staff provide to everyone, especially those of us who use the office for genealogical research. It is the consensus of those of us who have done research in numerous register of deeds offices in North Carolina that this office is by far the most gracious, helpful and easy to work with of any in the state. Jennifer was presented with a plaque expressing our appreciation and Argie Waters, Lisa Mizelle and Patricia Columbus were presented certifications of appreciation.
