Ms. Beverly Jo George Swain, age 71, a resident of 212 Quail Dr., Washington, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 9, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Mark Lilley. Burial will follow in the Swain Family Cemetery. Dr. Austin Swain, Thack Cutler, Kenneth Waters, Brian Swain, John Taylor and Sgt. Charlie Woolard will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Swain was born in Fulton County, Georgia to the late John and Eunice Manders George. She retired as a school teacher after serving many years with Bath, Northside and Washington High Schools and was an active supporter of the cross country program at Northside High School.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Swain and wife Cathy of Pinetown, Patrick Swain and wife Amanda of Columbus, OH; one daughter, Michelle Cutler and husband Kent of Pinetown; eight grandchildren, Dr. Austin Swain, Sierra Avery, Mackensi Swain, Thack Cutler, Haley Cutler, Reese Cutler, Breison Swain, Brielee Swain; one great granddaughter, Allison Avery; one sister, Nancy “Peggy” Sparkman and husband Bob of Gadston, AL; three brothers, Gerald George and wife Lois of Blairsville, GA, Wayne George and wife Linda of Lilburn, GA, Ray George and wife Wanda of Logansville, GA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Walsh.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her son Steven and Cathy Swain, 8148 N. Boyd Rd., Pinetown.
