Elma M. Harris

Elma Gray Midgette Harris, 94, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Cross Creek Nursing Facility, Swan Quarter.

Born in Hyde County, May 21, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Georgia Ballance Midgette. She was married to Carl Cahoon Harris who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Engelhard Christian Church and of The Order of the Eastern Star, former Hyde Chapter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 4, 2015 at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Scott Sukeforth and Jerald Craddock will officiate.

Surviving is a son, Donald Harris of Engelhard; two daughters, Dianne H. Pugh and husband Earl Jr., Tammy H. Sadler and husband John, both of Engelhard; nine grandchildren, Mark Harris and wife Tynia of Engelhard, Chris Harris and wife Sherry of Engelhard, Jeffrey Carl Harris of Virginia, Tonya M. Lee of Dunn, Jael H. Reynolds of South Carolina, Dawson Pugh and wife Bethany of Engelhard, Carla Pugh of Columbia, Gordon Sadler and wife Hope and Jason Sadler and wife Ashley, both of Virginia; eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Jeff Harris and James Harris, a sister, Clydia Selby and a brother, Elwood Midgette.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday evening at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
