July 23, 1940 – Dec. 16, 2015 

Mrs. Dollie Savonne Garris Langston Boyd, age 75, a resident of 110 Lancaster Lane of the Winchester community, Washington, NC, died Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday December 19, 2015 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Todd Parrish and Pastor Darren Walker. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Dylan Stancill, Jonathan Stancill, David MIzelle, David Shaw, Roscoe Spencer and Greg Rayburn will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Pitt County, NC on July 23, 1940 to the late Robert Lee Garris and Laura Mae Dail Garris. She graduated from Pitt County Community College with a degree in cosmetology. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to their sporting events and other activities. Mrs. Boyd also enjoyed yard work, baking and activities with her church.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacey Langston Wright and husband Simon of Washington, two grandchildren, Haley Wright, Will Wright, three brothers, Millard Garris and wife Virginia of Ayden, Brantly Garris and wife Barbara of Vanceboro, Gary Garris and wife Karen of Chocowinity, three sisters, Faye Lewis of Ayden, Lynda Wright of Chocowinity, Judy Leggett of Vanceboro and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband William Grafton Langston, her late husband Colton Gene Boyd, a brother, Robert Earl Garris, and a sister Bonnie Avery.

The family will receive friends Friday December 18, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
