From Washington Police Department

On Sunday, Dec. 27, around 5 p.m., Washington police and EMS responded to a person having been shot near Seventh and Gladden streets.

The victim later passed at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Akeem Javal Williams, age 25, of Van Norden Street, Washington.

Investigators are seeking any help the community can give to aid in the investigation.
