Mr. Guy Anthony Woolard, age 41, a resident of 820 Darrell Drive, Greenville, NC, and a former resident of Washington, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Eastern Pines Church of Christ, officiated by D.J. Maxey and Rev. Albert Cliff. Burial will follow in the Woolard Family Cemetery off of Betsy’s Elbow Road, Washington. Jordan Woolard, David McKeel, Hank Leigh, Kelvin Huber, Chris Phillips, Glen Jenkins, Billy Boyd and Clarence Woolard will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday February 4, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Guy’s brother: Joey Woolard, located at 610 Cedar Lane, Washington.
Guy was born in Okeechobee, FL on September 16, 1974, son of the late Guy Lester “Pops” Woolard and Barbara Ann Markland Woolard who survives. He attended Washington High School and was a supervisor with Fountain/Baja Power Boats. Guy had a passion for nature and dearly loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of Eastern Pines Church of Christ and Brothers First Motorcycle Ministry.
Surviving along with his mother: Barbara of Washington are two sons: Jordan Guy Woolard of Greenville and Tommy Ray Thompson of Washington; his fiancée: Jennie Murphrey of Greenville; two step-daughters: Makayla Cutler and Makenzie Cutler, both of Greenville; a brother: Joey Alan Woolard and his wife Melinda of Washington; his maternal grandmother: Anna D. Markland of Washington; an uncle: Benjamin Franklin Woolard of Washington; a niece: Carly Woolard and a nephew: Dylan Woolard.
