The artwork of dozens of students from across Beaufort County will go on public display beginning March 13 during the annual Student Art Show presented by Arts of the Pamlico.
An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, March 13, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Turnage Theatre and Gallery. The Student Art Show will run through April 21.
The arts council has hosted a student show for more than 30 years, and considers this exhibit to be one of its most important annual programs.
“It is an opportunity for young artists to have the experience of seeing their work in a real exhibition, and we try to make it memorable and professional all the while encouraging their efforts to continue making art,” said Joey Toler, executive director of AOP. “The show also introduces a whole new audience to the arts council and the services we provide our community.”
Work from students throughout Beaufort County, representing grades kindergarten through high school, are part of the Student Art Show. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m. For more information about this and other programs presented by AOP, call 252-946-2504 or visit the website at www.artsofthepamlico.org.
