KIM BOYD ME AND MY FAVORITE GUY: More than 40 Girl Scouts danced the night away at the Beaufort County Girl Scouts first annual “Me and My Favorite Guy” dance recently. The winter wonderland-themed dance was co-planned by two local Cadette Girl Scouts: Serena Dickinson from Troop 87 and Courtney Boyd from Troop 1016. Scouts invited their fathers, stepfathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers, etc. who were over the age of 18 to be their dates for the evening. In addition to dancing, the girls and their dates enjoyed winter wonderland-themed games, crafts and "snowman" snacks. Pictures were also taken to commemorate the evening. The dance was held at the Days Inn in Washington, which donated the use of their facility. Other sponsors of the dance were Mike Keech of J&M DJ Service from Bath, who provided music for the event, and Tony Williams of Sam-Son Kustoms from Belhaven, who provided a winter wonderland-themed banner. With the hard work of these bright, talented young ladies, outstanding businesses and several dedicated volunteers, the event was a huge success.
