Mrs. Bertha Faye Lewis Rowe, age 70, a resident of 14563 N.C. Hwy 33 East, Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2016 at Warren Memorial Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Ray Webb.
Mrs. Rowe was born in Craven County on July 3, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Elijah Bryan Lewis and Mary Ann Toler Lewis. She was a member of Warren’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working many years outside the home. Mrs. Rowe was an “awesome Mama and Me-Ma” who loved to cook and listen to country music. She loved and laughed freely and her life was centered around her home and family, making memories and warm traditions. Forever and ever, Amen.
On August 8, 1961, she married Calvin Lindsay Rowe Sr., who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her children, Rose Rowe-Paul and husband, Steve of Greenville, Michelle Jefferson and husband, Chris of Washington, Michael Rowe of Blounts Creek; her grandchildren, Michael Mayo of Washington, Taylor Jefferson of Washington, Matthew Jefferson of Washington, Haley Paul of Greenville; and siblings, Ethel Newman, Barbara Roelle, Garland Lewis, Esther Haynes, Helen Fleming, Hazel Caroon and Danny Lewis.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rowe was preceded in death by her son, Calvin “Lindsay” Rowe Jr., and two brothers, Alton Ray Lewis and Donald Lewis.
The family received friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 13965 N.C. Hwy 33 East, Blounts Creek, N.C. 27814.
