BOARDS MEET WITH GOVERNOR: William Pitt (third from left), a member of Washington’s City Council and the city’s representative on the North Carolina League of Municipalities’ Executive Board, met with other NCLM officials, North Carolina Association of County Commissioners’ Executive Board members and Gov. Pat McCrory recently to discuss topics such as sales-tax distribution, how cities fund services they provide and possible legislative authorization for a local option sales tax. The meeting was the first time the two boards met together.
