Beaufort County Community College hosted a memorial service Wednesday morning to honor Dr. Charles Boyette. The college planted a red maple tree outside of Building 12 in memory of the beloved physician.
Boyette passed away suddenly in March due to heart complications. A well-known figure, he practiced medicine for decades in Belhaven, serving as the town’s mayor and most recently on the Board of Aldermen.
