The Washington Waterfront Underground Railroad Museum will have its grand opening Thursday at 1 p.m. Museum directors, commemorating Washington’s role in shepherding slaves from slavery to freedom, will officially welcome the public with refreshments and several “thank yous,” but no long speeches, according to Rebecca Clark.
“The main thing we want people to know is that we’re open, we’re free and come visit,” Clark said.
