Hazelene C. Clark

Mrs. Hazelene Cherry Clark, age 83, a resident of Greenville, NC, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Rev. Gene Williams Jr. and Rev. Roger Tripp. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. to the funeral hour Sunday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home of her sons: Steve Clark, located at 204 Williamsburg Rd., Washington, and at the home of Joey Clark, located at 215 Holly Dr., Washington.

Mrs. Clark was born in Beaufort County on October 26, 1932, daughter of the late Amacy Cornelius Cherry and the late Jessie Mildred Jackson Cherry. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. On March 21, 1951 she married Thurman Leo Clark who preceded her in death on June 13, 2004. Mrs. Clark worked with Carolina Telephone and Sprint for thirty-eight years before retirement in April of 1990. She was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Chocowinity where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher, led the CTS group, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the shut-in visitation group and helped with the senior citizens fruit basket mission.

Survivors include three sons: Steve Clark and his wife Tamara, Stan Clark and Joey Clark and his wife Tina, all of Washington; three sisters: Mildred Jackson of New Bern, Ann Greene of Jackson, OH, and Faye Warner of Washington; three grandchildren: Stephen Nash Clark, Conner Delane Clark and Joseph Chance Clark. Mrs. Clark was predeceased along with her parents and husband by a granddaughter: Dusty Renee Clark.
