The Washington-Plymouth Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. sponsored a community garden in Washington to provide vegetables to citizens who would benefit from assistance with preparing healthy and nutritious meals.
Some of the vegetables available include squash, mixed greens and an assortment of herbs. Vegetables were recently harvested and distributed to citizens during the food program at East Havens Apartments. Donations to others will continue until the production cycle ends.
