The Washington Kiwanis Club awarded the third of its annual $1,200 scholarships at a recent meeting. Kaitlin E. Brescia from Northside High School was honored as the recipient. During her time at Northside, Kaitlin was active in the Key Club along with many other school activities.
Funding for the scholarships and other club projects comes from community activities including the Annual Lobster Sale, the Washington/Kiwanis Christmas Parade and the Annual Golf Tournament.
The Kiwanis Club of Washington meets each Tuesday for lunch at King Chicken on Carolina Avenue, Washington. The club welcomes prospective members who have an interest in service to the community.
