The Saturday Night Jamboree held their June meeting recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington. Registrar Carolyn Jefferson signed in 123 clients with loving assistance from Kathy Scap and Neta Mercer.
While caring volunteer Russell Jefferson kept watch at the door, DJ Redmen member Kenneth Beacham played music for dancing and listening pleasure.
Jamboree DJ Kenneth Beacham and Tine Woolard led the activities and led in singing “Happy Birthday” to June honorees. Other regular volunteers included Michael and Kaitlyn Cutler, James Bradly, Kin Wood, Joyce Carawan, Martha Seigman and Kathy Lilly.
Smyrna OFWB Church of Blount’s Creek members and friends served delicious refreshments following a prayer offered by Mary Ipock. Those helping with serving included Joel Jr., Jo Ann, Kayle Gannon, Skybo Langley, Carol West, Carol Gay, Gregg and Joy Mosley, Sharon Hand, Barbara Alligood and Barbara Rouse.
The Jamboree would like to thank all volunteers, organizations, businesses and churches for all of their generous assistance during the year because the Jamboree could not continue without the help of all of our loving volunteers.
The next Jamboree will be the annual Hot Dog Cookout on July 9, beginning earlier this month, from 5–8 p.m. at the Redmen’s Lodge. Anyone wishing to volunteer their talent and assistance to the Jamboree may do so by calling Jamboree Committee President Marlene Sprouse at 252-946-4350 or by attending the monthly meetings. .
