Washington dentist elected VP of dental society

Dr. David Howdy was elected vice president-elect of the 3,600-member North Carolina Dental Society for 2017 at the society’s annual session.
Along with his membership in the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society, Howdy is a fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He serves on the board of the North Carolina Caring Dental Professionals and the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, and served as NCSBDE board president in 2013-2014. He was on the Beaufort County Board of Health from 1998-2004, serving as chairman from 2000-2004.
Howdy has received the Operative Dentistry Award from the American Academy of Operative Dentistry and the Oral Medicine Award from the American Academy of Oral Medicine.
He maintains a private practice in Washington.
The North Carolina Dental Society was founded in 1856 and is one of the oldest dental societies in the country. The NCDS represents nearly 3,600 member dentists in North Carolina.
