Local student graduates from Elon University

Mollie Crawford graduated from Elon University on May 21 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and art.
More than 1,300 students received degrees in ceremonies featuring an address by CNN senior political analyst David Gergen, co-director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Crawford is the daughter of Dr. Michael Crawford and Mrs. Kara Crawford of Washington.
Elon’s 6,000 students come from 50 states and 49 other nations, creating an academic community of global citizens. Elon has built a national reputation as the premier student-centered liberal arts university, preparing graduates to be the ethical leaders the world needs. Elon is known for mentoring student-faculty relationships, academic excellence across the curriculum, and for experiential learning programs in global education, internships, undergraduate research, service and leadership.
Crawford was an Elon College Fellow. She attended high school in Beaufort County Schools — Washington High School for two years — and the North Carolina School of Science and Math for two years.
