William “Billy” Stocks II

Mr. William Gardner “Billy” Stocks II, age 43, a resident of Grimesland died Tuesday July 12, 2016. His death was a result of an accident while he was doing what he loved, enjoying the river with his family.
A celebration of his life will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday July 16, 2016, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2425 North Market Street Extension, Washington. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jay Martin.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the church and other times at the home of Billy’s father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Linda Hedgepeth located at 202 Bluegill Drive, Washington.
Billy was born in Beaufort County on January 25, 1973, son of the late William G. Stocks and the late Doris Roberta Hodges Stocks. He was a 1991 graduate of Washington High School. On May 27, 2000, he married Paige Hedgepeth. Billy was a member and treasurer of Horse Pen Hunting Club and was raised in the First Free Will Baptist Church of Washington. He was co-owner and Vice President of Pamlico Tower Inc. with Bo Brooks, his mentor and confidant. Billy was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, hunting, and boating. His greatest passion was the love for his children and wife who will forever keep his memory alive by living life to the fullest.
Surviving along with his wife Paige of the home are two children: Emeline Elizabeth Stocks and William G. Stocks III both of the home; four sisters: Peggy Stocks Waters of Chapel Hill, Sue Stocks Simmons and husband Eric of Chapel Hill, Denise Stocks Eubanks and husband Marvin of Washington and Billie Stocks Brooks and husband Bo of Washington; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Robert and Linda Hedgepeth of Washington; a brother-in-law: Bradford Hedgepeth of Washington; nieces and nephews: Stacy Erickson, Jonathan Eubanks, Charlotte Reedy, Bradford Luchenbill, Stuart Eubanks, Amy Lilly, Hatteras Brooks, Haley Lynn Hedgepeth and Maddie Hedgepeth and great nieces and nephews: Levi Eubanks, Morgan Eubanks, Blake Erickson and Luke Eubanks. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law: Marvin Waters and a great niece: Rylen Eubanks.
