James G. “Jim” Padgett

James G. “Jim” Padgett, 66, of Kilmarnock, Virginia passed away on July 16, 2016. He was the son of the late Willie Elmer Padgett and Gilda G. Huff Padgett. Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Helen Nicole Toadvine (Jeff); his son, Fletcher G. Padgett (Carter); his three granddaughters, Rachel, Lauren and Anna Claire Toadvine; his fiancé, G. Geneva Dawson; and her children, that he thought of as his own, Carrington R. Blencowe (Todd) and Kyle Lawton Kilduff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine F. Padgett and his sister, Cathy Padgett.
Jim received his Bachelors and Masters from the University of Maryland. He owned and operated James Padgett Dental, Inc. in Kilmarnock, Va. Jim donated his time to Mission of Mercy, a dental outreach program that provides dental services to families in need, for many years. He was passionate about helping families in the Northern Neck and the Eastern Shore.
Jim was a loving man and father who always had a kind word and was willing to help everyone he met. He will be missed by his family, friends and especially by his canine companions, Baby and Bentley.
Jim had a passion for smiling, dancing with his favorite partner, Geneva, playing bass guitar, going to the beach and more than anything, listening to beach music.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
