6 charged in breaking and entering cases

Washington Police Department arrested six people in connection with several breaking and entering cases. These break-ins occurred on or around July 1. Those arrested include: Jevon Latrell Hagins, 17, of Daniels Court, Washington, who was charged with six counts of breaking and entering, five counts of larceny, two counts larceny of firearm, safecracking and obtaining property by false pretenses. Hagins was placed in Beaufort County Detention Center with a $35,000 bond pending appearances.

Jaylen Dontrelle Gilmore, 17, of West Ninth Street, Washington, was charged with six counts of breaking and entering, five counts of larceny, two counts larceny of firearm, safecracking and obtaining property by false pretenses. Gilmore was placed in Beaufort County Detention Center with a $35,000 bond pending appearances.

Edward Spencer Valdez-Rivera, 17, of U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm. Valdez-Rivera was placed in Beaufort County Detention Center with a $10,000 bond pending appearances.

Serenus Emere Midgette, 18, of East 14th Street, Washington, was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm. Midgette was placed in Beaufort County Detention Center with a $25,000 bond pending appearances.

Tyrik Dashawn Thigpen, 18, of West Ninth Street, Washington, was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm. Thigpen was placed in jail in Beaufort County Detention Center with a $40,000 bond pending appearances.

Jashean Robert Smith, 17, of Mebane, was arrested in Mebane and charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm and safecracking. Smith was placed in jail in Alamance County with a $25,000 bond pending appearances.

Washington Police would like to thank Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Mebane Police Department for all of their assistance in these cases. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
