Beaufort County Community College is offering “Business Marketing for Creative Entrepreneurs” in Hyde County. In this small-group working session, participants will begin with the basics and apply their newfound knowledge to the specifics of their individual businesses. Developing a collection, professionally presenting creative work for sale, finding the balance between originals and reproductions and pricing for profitability will be discussed.
Jean Skipper will also help participants tell their story, communicate in written and oral form, design effective marketing and sales materials and analyze the benefits of exclusivity. Participants will learn to manage wholesale relationships, manage consignment relationships, participate in trade shows, use online sales venues and maximize social media opportunities.
Skipper has been working and teaching full-time since 2005. For five years, she owned a gallery, and she is also one of the founders and co-owners of ReMe Retreats. Skipper’s enthusiasm for creative marketing is contagious. Her experience is extensive, her style is easy-going, and her genuine concern for students and their success will encourage them to reach for their dreams.
The session will take place on July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon and is free to attend.
