George Willis “Bill” Baker

George Willis “Bill” Baker, age 81, formerly of Princeton, died Wednesday afternoon in Craven Regional Medical Center. Born April 5, 1935 in Johnston County to the late George Gilbert and Lucy Lee Rose Baker, he was preceded in death by a son, Travis Baker; brothers, R. E. “Duber“ Baker and Rev. Joe Baker and sisters, Lola Pounds and Ann Walters. Bill was a retired shift supervisor with Texas Gulf in Aurora until his retirement, at which time he worked locally as an electrician.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Baker’s Chapel Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his son, Douglas Saxon Baker of Gastonia; daughters, Patricia Spring Perkins and Pandora College both of Columbia; brothers, Herman Baker of Florida and Jackie Baker of Conway, SC; sisters, Pearl Allen of Garner and Katherine Medlin of Holly Ridge, five grandchildren and one great grandson.
