Perry Wayne “Monk” Squires

Perry Wayne “Monk” Squires, 57, of Grimesland, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on August 23, 2016 at the home of his brother and sister-in-law. Mr. Squires was born in Beaufort County on June 22, 1959 to Samuel W. and Nellie G. Squires.
Mr. Squires is survived by his brothers: Sammy Squires and wife Teresa of Greenville, Frederick Squires and wife Linda of Washington, and Timmy Squires of Belhaven; his sisters: Nina Paul and companion Jimmy Boles of Washington, and Ada Evans and husband Jim of Washington; sister-in-law Teresa Squires of Pinetown; several nieces and nephews and one that he was real close to Trey Evans.
Mr. Squires was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Nellie, brothers Wilson Squires, Frank Squires and Elmer Ray Squires Sr., and his sister Pamela Harris.
A celebration of Mr. Squires’ life will be held at Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Washington on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Reverend David Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral hour, and at other times at the home of his brother, Sammy Squires, 1703 Foster Road in Greenville.
