Sheriff’s Office seeking suspects in River Road homicide

Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators are tracking down suspects of a Washington homicide.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday, the sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot at 116 Baker Drive. The address is located in the River Road Estates Mobile Home Park off of River Road.

Joshua Rashawn O’Neal, the victim, was pronounced dead at the scene, though North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers and deputies who responded to the crime immediately began lifesaving efforts once the victim was located. Emergency medical personnel also responded and continued the lifesaving efforts, but were unable to save the victim, according to the press release.

Investigators processed physical evidence and interviewed witness at the Baker Drive location. and on Friday, investigators were actively seeking suspects in the homicide, according to one law enforcement official.
