Mr. W. B. Taylor, age 80, a resident of Grimesland, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens of Washington officiated by Derik Davis. His service will be held in conjunction with the service of his sister, Bertha T. Paul, who died less than 24 hours after his death.

The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Mr. Taylor’s son: Charles Taylor located at 403 Ranson Ct., Grimesland.

Mr. W. B. was born in Jackson County on July 8, 1936, son of the late Woodson Burney Taylor, Sr. and the late Ida Marcus Taylor. He attended Washington High School and worked as a foreman with Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his son: Charles W. Taylor and wife Lisa of Grimesland; a daughter: Amy J. Taylor and fiancé James Bullock of Greenville; a sister: Mary B. Smith and husband Marvin Smith of Washington; a brother: Claude James Taylor of Washington; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. At the time of Mr. Taylor’s death, he was survived by a sister: Bertha T. Paul who joined him in death on Friday Sept. 30, 2016. He was predeceased by two sisters: Lucy T. Jones and Katie T. Sheppard; a brother: David D. Taylor and a half-brother: Bill Free.
