Mr. William H. “Bill” “Billy” Mills, 75, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Mills, a native of Pitt County, had lived in the Grimesland community for 40 years and had been a member of the Grimesland Pentecostal Holiness Church for 21 years. He was a graduate of Chicod High School and was employed with Burroughs-Wellcome, retiring in 1995.

Bill was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his vegetables. He also enjoyed fishing. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse H. Mills and a brother, Ray Mills.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Jefferson Mills; daughter, Melody Dixon and husband, Drew, of Grimesland; grandchildren, Mikayla Dixon and Haylee Dixon; his mother, Mildred Bibb Mills of Greenville; and brother, Monty Mills and wife, Ann, of Corpus Christi, TX.
