Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Mayo

Mr. Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Mayo, age 49, a resident of 125 Moore Lane, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by David Linton. Burial will follow in Wesley Cemetery. Griffin Taylor, Brian Ange, Zack Howard, Johnny Windley, Bud Alligood and Ricky Banks will serve as pallbearers.

Kenny was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 27, 1967, and attended Chocowinity High School. On Oct. 7, 1995, he married the former Melinda Moore who survives. Kenny was employed as an iron worker with Triple C in Washington and formerly with Roberts Inc. in Winterville.

In addition to his wife, Melinda of the home, he is survived by his children: Kenny Bryan Sherley of Winterville, Ashley M. Howard and husband Zackery and Hayden Mayo all of Chocowinity; his grandchildren: Isabella Sherley, Axel Sherley, Brayden Howard and Conner Howard; his brothers: Sam Latham of Elizabeth City and Timmy Mayo of Washington; his sisters: Andrea Mayo and husband Lonnie of Washington, Tillie Mayo of Plymouth and Wanda Latham of Washington. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Dixon Mayo and two brothers: Dewitt Mayo and Lonnie Mayo.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.
