Published 6:32 pm Friday, November 25, 2016

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

In observance of Thanksgiving the shelter will be closed Nov. 24 through Nov. 27.

Paisley

Stunning in her American shorthair coat, this Russian blue-mix girl wears a gorgeous coat of silvery gray with a tiny white twinkle of a star on her chest. One-year-old Paisley has huge, pale hazel eyes, is very friendly, loving, intelligent and adores attention. When given the love, warmth and stability of a good forever home, she will blossom into a devoted friend, pet and companion. For more on this sweet girl, use the following link and click on the album “Adoptable Cats.”

Miles

This approximately 1-year-old, American pit bull terrier/boxer-mix is a smart, likeable fellow who is friendly and likes attention. Miles, handsome with a shorthair coat of black and white, is a large boy who needs to be the only animal. No cats or dogs, please — Miles is dog aggressive and does not get along with male dogs. His former owner reports that he gets along with people and he’s OK with kids.

Miles deserves a good, loving forever home where he can be a faithful companion, and owner(s) willing to give him love, attention, exercise in a fenced area or on leash and basic obedience training.

For photos and video, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterDogs/video/goo.gl/uGpZ1h. Miles has had a name change, please use Miles ID#1971.

Come spend a little time with Miles, he’s available at the shelter.
