Mavis Adrienne Daniels Powers

Mavis Adrienne Daniels Powers, 82, of South Creek, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at home.

She retired from cosmetology after owning and operating a salon in Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon Lee Powers Jr.; parents, William Bonner and Dea Lottie Daniels; brother, Jeffrey Lynn Daniels; niece, Donna Lloyd; and nephew, Ricky Lloyd.

She is survived by brothers, Ashley Daniels, Henry Daniels and Kirby Daniels; sisters, Darnell Smith and Bertie Arnhols; nieces, Lynnette, Adrienne, Sherri, Rosemary and Jammie; nephews, Jeff, Willy, Bryan, Jake, John, Leslie, Michael and Chris; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

Her graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Daniels Family Cemetery, South Creek, with the Rev. Leslie Clyde Whealton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pruitt Health Hospice, 810 Kennedy Avenue, New Bern, NC  28562.

The family would like to extend their many thanks to the caring staff of Pruitt Health Hospice, with a special thanks to her nurse, Brandi, and to Seniors Choosing To Live At Home, with a special thanks to Lynn, RN-Retired.
