On Saturday afternoon, residents gathered for some family, holiday fun as part of the 20th anniversary of Santa on the Porch. Held at Barbie and Tommy Alligood’s home on River Road in Washington, the event has changed over the years, going from Santa visits around the community to the at-home celebration where children come to see the man in red. The event was free, but donations were accepted for J&J’s Homeless Pet Rescue. Refreshments and sweets were also available. Families start lining up early to see Santa, and the Alligoods usually expect about 400 people total.
