Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

In observance of Christmas, the shelter will be closed Dec. 23–27 and reopen Dec. 28.

Stella

This hound and American pit bull terrier-mix is an attractive, smart, happy, sweet girl who loves people. At 10 months old, though large in size, Stella still has a lot of puppy in he, which is demonstrated by her exuberance and active play. She will do best in a very active home with owner(s) experienced in teaching a young pup basic obedience training that includes “mouthy” puppy bite control. Stella is not cat friendly, but she is already spayed with veterinarian records and ready to go — after paying a reduced adoption rate — to her good, loving forever home where she will blossom into a faithful pet and companion.
