Edward “Ed” Franklin Browning

Mr. Edward “Ed” Franklin Browning, age 79, of Washington, formerly of Valdosta and Griffin, Ga., passed away January 3, 2017, after an extended battle of Alzheimer’s.
He was born November 5, 1937 in Bremen, Ga., son of the late Lucille Wood Browning and James Carl Browning. He was a graduate of Rockmart, Ga. High School, attended Tennessee Tech and served in the US Army. He retired with 16 years of service as a purchasing agent from ITT Thompson Industries, and was a member of Harvest Church in Washington.
Mr. Browning was preceded in the recent death of his daughter & son-in-law, Candy & Chuck Ritzen; a brother, Cecil Browning; and sister, Doris Myers.
Mr. Browning is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Watson Browning of Washington; two daughters, Sara Browning Covey & Bruce and Amanda Browning Woods of Cartersville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Hank Woods, Catherine Castleberry & Michael, Anna Woods, Davis Carlton; two great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Woods and Mia Castleberry; brother-in-law, Ed Watson & Tonna; a number of nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Gigi.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
