Frances Elizabeth “Fefe” Gibbs Gaffney, age 63, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Mrs. Gaffney was born in Beaufort County on June 24, 1953 to the late Barney Keith and Stella Elizabeth Gibbs. She enjoyed dancing, shooting pool, swimming, being in the sun, fishing and cooking. She loved having fun and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include, two daughters, Faithe Simpson of Pinetown, Hope Sadler of Swan Quarter, two grandchildren, Alexis Leigh Williams, Nicole Lynn Simpson, one great-grandchild, Alyssa Michelle Cunningham, and one sister Dory Taylor and husband Michael of Washington.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Gaffney, and a brother Bobby Spencer.
