Mr. Carl Mayo Taylor, age 80, formerly of Bath, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing home in Washington.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Dennis R. Davis and Linda Taylor. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Halston Boyd, Billy Gurganus, Kelly Gurganus, Dwayne Gurganus, Shane Taylor and Ottis Crisp Jr.
Mr. Taylor was born in Bath, N.C. on April 17, 1936. He was the son of the late James Mayo Taylor and Retha Estell Boyd Taylor. Mr. Taylor graduated from Bath High School. He was a retired U.S. Air Force mechanic with 20 years of service.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge, the Washington Masonic Lodge and the V.F.W.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his son, Michel Alen Taylor and his wife, Marcia of Alachua, FL; brother, Jimmy Parker Taylor of Bath; sister, Dianna Boyd of Bath; grandson, Lee Taylor of Cocoa, FL; great-grandson, Sebastian Taylor of Cocoa, FL; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Hylton of Gainesville, FL and step-grandson, Ryan Kitchens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of his brother, Jimmy Taylor, 207 Front Street, Bath.
