George Bryant “G.B.” Haddock

Mr. George Bryant “G.B.” Haddock, 90, of Washington, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Haddock, son of the late George W. and Bessie Paramore Haddock, was a native of Pitt County. For a number of years he was a farmer, and later retired as a mechanic with Smith-Mills Pontiac Buick and Enterprise Car Rental in Washington. He was a dedicated woodworker and avid Nascar fan. Mr. Haddock was also well known for his famous barbecue pig picking sauce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David, Lonnie and Leon Haddock; and sisters, Minnie H. Clark, Marie Joyner and Beulah Cox.
He is survived by his: daughters, Rev. Elizabeth Rose Alligood, of Chocowinity and Magdalene H. Whitley and husband, Bob, of Warner Robbins, GA; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; best friend, Harmon Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
