Elmer “Gene” Ingalls

Mr. Elmer Eugene “Gene” Ingalls, age 70, a resident of 1255 Cowell Farm Road, Washington, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory, conducted by Travis Boyd. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Leggett, Daryl Holland, Kip Roberson, Josh Roberson, Barry Ingalls and Johnny Matkins.
Mr. Ingalls was born in Beaufort County on January 5, 1947. He was the son of the late Elmer McCoy Ingalls and Irmadell Boyd Ingalls.
Mr. Ingalls was a retired security guard. He attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church. In his spare time, Mr. Ingalls enjoyed spending time on his tractor on the farm and tending a garden as long as his health permitted.
Mr. Ingalls is survived by two sisters, Diane Langley of Chocowinity, Helen Cutler of Deep River, CT; one brother, McCoy Ingalls of Canton, GA; aunt, Janet Tolston of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ingalls was preceded in death by his son, Jodie E. Ingalls, March 2, 2000.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of his sister, Diane Langley, 146 Edgewood Drive, Chocowinity.
