Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Keech Wilson, age 89, a resident of Washington, died Monday, January 30, 2017 at Ridgewood Manor.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Beaufort County on November 18, 1927 to the late Charlie Jackson Keech and Neta Keech. She was a 1946 graduate of Pantego High School. On August 18, 1945, she married Earl Lee Wilson who preceded her in death in February 1988. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at many church events.

Survivors include four children, Donetta “Cookie” Core, Doug Wilson and wife Elaine, Elizabeth Brooks and husband Cam, all of Bath, Jerry Wilson and wife Gayle of Washington, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Jerrell Wilson, a grandson, Michael Wilson, a son-in-law Ronald Core, her three brothers, Charlie Keech Jr., Dallas Keech, Don Keech and her sister, Ava Mae Poole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27612.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Cookie Core, at 225 Ormond Avenue, Bath.
